Born in 1991 in Monterrey, Mexico, Andrés holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Monterrey (2014). He works primarily in ceramics, employing the medium to create amorphous beings that appear to belong to a familiar ecosystem yet remain fundamentally unrecognizable, as they emerge from an abstract and intuitive imagination.

His practice explores the intersection between the artisanal and the artistic, incorporating elements of craft to complement and expand his artistic language. It emphasizes volume, relief, and an intentionally excessive surface texture, encouraging a dynamic and multi-perspectival engagement with each piece. Rather than offering a singular viewpoint, his sculptures demand to be observed from multiple angles, transforming the act of looking into an exercise of recognition and a confrontation with the unknown.

Andrés has participated in numerous exhibitions across Mexico, including the Emerging Art Biennial and the UNAM Biennial, where he received Honorable Mentions. His work has also been presented internationally in the United States, Italy, Spain, France, Denmark, England, Switzerland, and South Africa. Notable highlights include his participation in the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize and the Officine Saffi Award exhibitions, where he was awarded First Prize and an artistic residency, respectively.

​ Since 2025, he is also co-founder of MORA, a residency program based in Monterrey that hosts international artists.
